Many people want to have a straight, radiant smile, but do not want to straighten their teeth with traditional braces. Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist, Dr. Kevin Sands provides both his adult and teenage patients with a great way to straighten teeth without the use of traditional braces.

Invisalign® braces use clear, plastic aligners to gradually move the teeth into a straighter, more aesthetically pleasing position. Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign® plastic aligners are virtually invisible.

Dr. Sands will evaluate your mouth and determine where each tooth needs to move to create a beautiful smile. He will make an impression of your teeth and send the impression to Align technology with his specific instructions for how the aligners should be created. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and will gently move your teeth. After you wear an aligner for two weeks, you will be given the next aligner in the series to wear for two weeks. This process will continue until you have worn all of the aligners.

The Invisalign® braces straighten teeth without using the metal brackets and wires that call attention to the mouth. You can straighten your smile unnoticeably and without temporarily lowering the aesthetic appearance of your smile. Unlike metal brackets and wire, the clear aligners do not cut or cause irritation to your mouth, cheeks, lips, and gums.

You will not have to adjust your diet while using Invisalign®. The Invisalign® aligners need to be removed when you eat, drink, and brush and floss your teeth. You do not need to avoid any types of food like you would if you had traditional braces. With traditional braces, you would have to avoid hard and sticky foods that may get stuck in the brackets or that may break the brackets.

The aligners are easier to clean than traditional braces. The aligners are removed from your mouth for cleaning and then placed back in your mouth for the day or when you sleep. You do not have to worry about threading dental floss through each bracket or brushing well around the wires. Invisalign® makes it easy for you to keep your teeth and your aligners clean.
